PIA plane lands ‘safely’ after three fly attempts

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: In another bizarre episode, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) left the passengers praying for their lives when a Karachi-bound flight, an Airbus A320, took off from Islamabad only to land back at the capital’s airport after developing technical fault.

According to different reports, two attempts were made to fly off the aircraft from Islamabad to Karachi, only for the flight captain to land it back at the capital airport. By the time, the aircraft finally landed in Karachi, it had only 17 passengers on-board as more than 140 had refused to fly on it.

A user also took to Twitter to report the horror he had witnessed on the aircraft. According to him, the plane glided for a while in the air before it was landed.

The user was one of the passengers who refused to board the plane after a failed first attempt. As for the PIA, its spokesperson said that the flight was landed the second time because the captain had done so citing safety issues. He also asserted that the airlines did not “compromise on the safety and precautionary measures”.
