Petroleum dealers to go on strike on November 25

KARACHI: A countrywide strike will be observed by the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) on November 25, Thursday as the pumps have made it clear that they were not interested in selling petrol at low profit margins.

According to a spokesperson for the PPDA, the dealers were left with no other option but to go on a strike since the government had failed to meet their demands by the initially proposed deadline of November 17. He said that pumps in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan region would also remain closed.

He warned that the strike could be further extended if the government did not stop from giving them false hopes. The petrol dealers are bitter about the high cost of business and low profit margins in return.

However, all petrol pumps operating under Pakistan State Oil (PSO) will continue to operate as per routine.
