Pakistan observes neutrality on Russia-Ukraine crisis in UN debate

Pakistan tried to maintain a neutral stance on Tuesday on the Russia-Ukraine war and passed its turn during the UN General Assembly debate.

Earlier, media reports claimed that Pakistan would not get involved in the UNGA debate and would not put itself in an uncomfortable position regarding the dispute. Similarly, United Arab Emirates did not vote during the UN sessions.

Meanwhile, the situation in Ukraine has started to worsen as the television tower in Kyiv (Ukraine’s capital) was attacked by Russia through airstrikes. Five people died in the attack with as many getting injured.

Russian strikes also killed an Indian student in Kharkiv (a city in eastern Ukraine). India has started to accelerate the procedure of evacuating Indian nationals. During Friday’s UN session on condemning the Russian attacks, India refrained from voting against it.
