Pakistan completes all targets of IMF for 7th and 8th review, IMF representative Esher Ruiz

Islamabad: Pakistan received a positive response from International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF representative in Islamabad, Esther Perez Ruiz, said all financial targets by IMF have been achieved by Pakistan. Esther added that a meeting would be scheduled in August as the 7th and 8th review has been completed. She said the country completed the last requirement on July 31, 2022.
The coalition government completed the last requirement of IMF by increasing the petroleum development levy on all petroleum products. The rate of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs 8.95 per litre, and kerosene oil by Rs 4.62 per litre. However, the rate of petrol was decreased by Rs 3 per litre. Pakistan and IMF reached a staff-level agreement on July 14, 2022.
