ISLAMABAD: Former England legend football player Michael Owen has arrived in Pakistan to kick off the footballing activities across the country and meet the top brass of the civil-military officials.
Owen had signed a three-year deal last year in September with the Pakistan Football League as its official ambassador. According to the State Broadcaster, PTV Sports, his arrival in the country has been facilitated by the Global Soccer Ventures (GSV).
Owen will be hosted over at dinner by President Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi as per PTV Sports. Owen is also likely to meet Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa during his stay in Pakistan. According to a press release by GSV, he will also meet Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan.
Owen had earlier said in a video tweet that he was thrilled to play his part in helping the GSV with their efforts to revamp football in Pakistan.
