The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved a hike of 74 per cent in gas prices from July 2023. According to the details, Ogra has approved to make an increment of gas prices for Sui Northern by 74.42 per cent and for Sui Southern by over 66 per cent.
In terms of rupees, there will be a raise of Rs406.28 per mmbtu for Sui Northern and Rs469.28 per mmbtu for Sui Southern. The decision made by OGRA is awaiting the approval of the federal government. However, If the federal government does not approve the hike within forty days, OGRA’s decision will be implemented automatically.
Currently, the average gas price by Sui Northern is Rs545.89 mmbtu, and after the hike, it will reach to Rs952.17. Similarly, Sui Southern is providing gas at Rs692.63, and after approval, the gas prices will surge to Rs 1,161.91 per mmbtu.
