Nutrition Stabilisation Centre launched to treat malnourishment

Peshawar: With the collaboration of World Health Organisation, the Health Department has launched Nutrition Stabilisation Centre. The primary task of the centre is to provide basic & specialised treatment to malnourished children.

WHO representative in Pakistan Dr Palitha Mahipala and Director General Health Services Dr Shaukat Ali inaugurated the centre – established in Maulvi Ameer Shah Memorial Hospital.

According to the Press Statement, the Nutrition Stabilisation Centre is equipped with top facilities to provide specialised treatment to acutely malnourished children that are facing complications. The centre got essential equipment & supplies from WHO. The global health body will also provide training sessions to service providers at the centre.

In the initial stage, the centre has basic facilities like a functional kitchen, play area, rest-rooms and five fully equipped beds.
