National Assembly will end its tenure

Islamabad: President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has received the summary for the dissolution of the National Assembly. After his approval, the National Assembly will end its tenure – three days before completing the five-year tenure.

During the last session, Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef will also make a farewell address. According to media reports, the President will be bound to dissolve the National Assembly within 48 hours. In case, the President does not fulfil the due action, the Assembly will automatically dissolve within 48 hours.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a few days ago that the assemblies will be dissolved before August 10 and the caretaker government will take over the governance.

Note that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader Raja Riaz will hold consultations today to finalise the name of the Caretaker Prime Minister. Both sides will propose three names for the position.
