Musharraf’s return to Pakistan subjected to legal and medical challenges, says family

According to the family members of General (R) Pervez Musharraf, the return of the former president to Pakistan is subjected to security, legal and medical challenges. Musharraf has been suffering from a rare disease called ‘amyloidosis’.

Musharraf left the country in 2016 and has been hospitalised for the past few weeks. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has already said that the party had no issues over Musharraf’s return.

The family members of the retired general thanked and appreciated that the government had decided to facilitate the return.

DG ISPR Babar Iftikhar has also said that the military leadership wanted him to come back. After his comment, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif also tweeted that he had no enmity towards Musharaf. He added that anyone should not suffer the pain he [Nawaz] went through.
