Mother of all U-turns; Imran Khan steps back from US conspiracy narrative

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf Imran Khan has suddenly changed his tone about the United States and their alleged conspiracy to de-throne him. While giving an interview to Financial Times, Khan showed the desire to mend relations with the US and work with Washington. The former prime minister also said that he had stopped blaming the US for his ouster and wished dignified relations in future.

During the interview, Khan said that the past was behind him and that the Pakistan he wanted to lead should have strong ties with everyone, especially with the US. He reiterated once again that early elections could restore political stability.

Regarding the army, Khan said that the armed forces could play a constructive character in his plans for the country. However, he pointed out that there should be a balance as the authority could not reside somewhere else while having an elected government.
