Microsoft rolls out free verification system for LinkedIn

verification system for LinkedIn.

According to the new announcement by Microsoft, they are launching a new free verification system for LinkedIn. With the help of this system, the users will be able to verify their identity along with the verification for their company. The verified digital ID can be obtained through LinkedIn profiles With the help of an email address and Microsoft’s Entra-verified ID platform.

This verification system is different in the sense that it allows the users to get the badge for free by using their work email address and Microsoft Entra. In collaboration with CLEAR, LinkedIn confirms user identity with their user data through a devised system.

After the verification process is successful, users will get a blue and green badge on their profiles. Note that the badge won’t appear next to the name at all times. LinkedIn has adopted the Entra Verified ID system of Microsoft. This system can work with a range of HR and identity systems.

The verification process uses a decentralized identity and a trust model (between the issuer, holder, and verifier). Employees can have their cryptographically signed digital IDs for work verifications and discounts through their respective companies.
