Celebrities grieve victims of Murree incident

KARACHI: The Murree tragedy has left the country feeling deep sorrow. Several media persons and celebrities shared their condolence messages on their Twitter account. They also asked the citizens to be cautious about travelling to tourist sites in this season.

Popular stars of the Pakistan entertainment industry Saba Qamar and Faisal Qureshi felt shocked about the incident, which claimed 21 lives. Saba and Faisal extended prayers to the deceased souls and their families. Saba also advised everyone to foresee weather conditions before travelling.

Armeena Khan, a film and drama actress, lashed out at authorities for the lack of infrastructure and necessary preparations.

Some public figures also urged the people not to share videos of the dead, as the deceased should be respected. Anchorperson Maria Memon, Singer Mustafa Zahid, and former senator of PML-N Ayesha Raza Farooq condemned the resharing of videos of frozen dead bodies.

Punjab government has imposed emergency in hospitals, Rescue 112, and police authorities. To give refuge to tourists, guesthouses have also been made available by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
