KARACHI: The United Bank Limited’s customers from all across the country reported someone having made transactions using their debit card information in the last two days. Many of the customers took to a Facebook Group – ‘Voice of Customers’ to raise their concerns.
According to a user, a transaction worth $9.99 was made on Google using his card info late on Friday night. “I immediately called the UBL Helpline. They blocked my card and told me to fill up a dispute form and submit it to the branch where I have my account,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Bank is yet to acknowledge the breach. This is not the first time that a Pakistani bank has been targetted by hackers. Several other banks have also been at the receiving end of a massive breach in the last few years.
