Senior Vice-President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has come out showering all praises for Finance Minister Ishaq Dar after the latter announced a ridiculous Rs5 cut on the petroleum prices.

It is pertinent to mention here that Maryam had not been heard from or seen commentating on the issue when the prices were raised exorbitantly by the Pakistan Democratic Movement-led government. The price of the diesel has been kept unchanged.

Petrol is now selling for Rs267 per litre, down by 1.8 per cent. Maryam took to Twitter to “thank” Dar for providing “relief” to the masses.

People were quick to react to Maryam’s tweet and called her out for what appeared to be a tone-deaf tweet in the face of unprecedented inflation. Journalist Maleeha Hashmey tweeted a sarcastic reply to Maryam and thanked Dar for lowering the prices after raising them in the first place.
