LONDON: Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that she had tied the knot in a private ceremony.
Malala tweeted that the couple celebrated a small nikah ceremony at home in Birmingham. She tweeted exclusive images of her wedding and requested people to send prayers to the newly-weds’ way.
Today marks a precious day in my life.
Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Malala on her wedding and sent her good wishes via tweet.
