Major internet outages reported in Pakistan: Downdetector

Reports from Downdetector on Tuesday indicated significant disruptions to internet services in various parts of the country, affecting users of multiple providers.

According to Downdetector, which aggregates outage reports from various sources, including user submissions, users experienced difficulties with the services of three major internet service providers (ISPs) – Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), Transworld Home, and Nayatel – shortly after noon.

The disruptions appeared to be widespread, with users reporting issues from key cities such as Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and near Okara.

For PTCL users, the disruptions were primarily observed in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Similarly, Transworld Home users reported issues in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. Nayatel users, on the other hand, encountered problems mainly in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and areas near Okara.

The exact cause of the disruptions was not immediately clear, and there was no official statement from the ISPs regarding the outages at the time of reporting. However, the widespread nature of the disruptions suggests potential technical issues affecting multiple service providers simultaneously.

Users affected by the outages expressed frustration over the interruption of internet services, highlighting the reliance of individuals and businesses on stable internet connectivity for various tasks, including work, education, and communication.
