KSE-100 index loses over 500 points, dollar rises to Rs202 in open market

KARACHI: On Monday, the pressure situation continued on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). The benchmark KSE-100 index shed more than 500 points during early hour trading.

After opening at 43,100 points, the index lost 400 points and by 12:30PM fell by 526 points. The situation occurred after Miftah Ismail, Finance Minister, went to Doha to re-initiate discussion with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the stalled $6 billion programme.

Meanwhile, the rupee lost Rs0.61 in value during intraday trading. The greenback climbed to Rs200.75. The dollar traded at Rs202 in the open market.
