K-pop star Moonbin passes away at age of 25

South Korea: Member of Korean pop music band Astra and known K-pop star, Moonbin, passed away at the young of 25. His music label ‘Fantagio, confirmed the news on Thursday. According to the local media, the police found the singer unresponsive on the evening of Wednesday in his apartment situated in the Gangnam neighbourhood.

No details had been given regarding the cause of death. An official statement from Fantagio, from their Twitter handle, said that Astro member Moonbin left the world unexpectedly and became a star in the sky. It added that people should avoid spreading malicious reports so that family of the deceased could honour him in peace and pay their respects.

Moonbin, whose actual name was Moon Bin, became a member of the Astro group and made his debut performance in 2016 after joining the trainee program of Fantagio. He simultaneously performed for the sub-group Moonbin & Sanha.

Earlier two female K-pop stars committed suicide after becoming victims of cyberbullying. On Sunday, Goo Hara’s dead body was found in her home. Her death came one month after her close friend and K-pop star Sulli committed suicide. South Korea has the highest percentage of the suicide among people aged under 40.
