Government announces to form Judicial Commission to investigate Arshad Sharif’s murder

On Tuesday, the federal government said a judicial commission would be formed for a thorough investigation of Arshad Sharif’s murder case. Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced the decision through the Twitter handle of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).

Aurangzeb added that the decision had been made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif. According to the tweet, the commission would include representatives of civil society and the media. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed to take journalists’ bodies on board.

Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Nairobi City, Kenya, by local police who claimed to shoot him in the case of mistaken identity. In their official statement, they expressed regret at the unfortunate incident.
