LAHORE: A group of unidentified men shot dead a local journalist here outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday. According to the details, Hasnain Shah, who was inside his car, was killed by armed men on a motorcycle.
Hasnain was a member of LPC and a private channel’s crime reporter. CCPO Lahore Fayyaz Ahmed took notice of the incident and has assured a thorough investigation. President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFJU) Shehzada Zulfiqar, Treasurer PFJU Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and Secretary-General PFJU Nasir Zaidi have condemned the killing and lashed out at the provincial government for the weak law and order situation.
The killing was also condemned by the Lahore Economic Journalist Association.
President Lahore Press Club Azam Chaudhry said that they would make sure that the violent event didn’t go unnoticed and warned that the authorities would be held accountable if the culprits were not brought to justice.
