Meta-owned popular social media platform Instagram will soon launch a new feature of searchable maps. With the new update, users can explore tagged locations and browse nearby restaurants, salons and other places. Earlier, the app only allowed to tag the location, but now a viewer can browse it through maps.
The company said that the new feature would help businesses to grow. It added that locations can be explored by using hashtags. The explore page will allow not only to tap on a tagged location but also to make new searches.
Users can also save the location and share it with friends and family. Senior Vice-President of Google Prabhakar Raghavan acknowledged the fact that instead of using Google search and maps, youth uses social media apps to discover new places and find facts.
