The city of lights turned into the city of misery on the second day of Eid when several parts of the city got submerged in rain water after heavy rainfall. The southern and eastern parts of the city started receiving showers on late Sunday night.
Several roads got inundated with rain water with citizens left stranded on roads, looking helplessly at each other. Unfortunately, some people lost their lives due to electrocution and electric shocks in their houses.
The citizens have been advised to not travel if unnecessary and stay away from electronic appliances.
Many citizens took to Twitter to show their outrage against the ruling party in Sindh – Pakistan Peoples Party for the poor infrastructure in Karachi.
A video was circulating on social media where the M9 Highway was shown inundated with the rain water.
