Govt reduces petroleum prices by Rs 40.50

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced to reduce the petroleum prices by Rs40.50. Petrol price was reduced by Rs18.50 per litre while diesel was brought down by Rs40.50 per litre. PM Shehbaz once again blamed the IMF conditions and said that petrol prices were increased to fulfill their requirements.

He added that since oil prices have decreased in the international market, the government had decided to provide relief to the public.

After the new rates, petrol will be available at Rs230.24 per litre and diesel at Rs236 per litre. During the announcement, Mr Sharif once again followed the ritual of lashing out at Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

He claimed that Imran Khan’s government left a troubled economy, and laid landmines for the coalition government. The premier further said that PTI had reduced petrol prices to create problems for the incumbent government.
