Govt announces to launch Digital Flood Dashboard to ensure transparency in flood relief funds

ISLAMABAD: In an attempt to ensure transparency in the distribution of the funds for flood relief, the federal government has decided to launch a ‘Digital Flood Dashboard’. The decision was made during a meeting to review the relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected parts of Pakistan.

The information on the dashboard will be accessible to the general public and media, where they can find the information regarding received support and its distribution. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that he would personally monitor the system. He tweeted that the audit of the financial aid would be done by a reputed audit firm AGPR. Mr Sharif added that all audit reports would be made public.

The devastating floods have affected over 33 million people, destroyed 1.3 miles of roads, and torn down around 256 bridges.
