Government increases petrol prices by Rs6.72 per litre

Islamabad: On Monday, the federal government increased petroleum prices by Rs 6.72 per litre. The Finance Ministry issued the notification at midnight. According to the new prices, petrol will sell at Rs 233.91 per litre and light-speed diesel at Rs 191.75 per litre. A slight decrease has been recorded in some products. The price of high-diesel has dropped by Rs 0.51 per litre, selling at Rs 244.44. Kerosene oil prices decreased by Rs 0.43 per litre, selling at 199.40.
On the other hand, some sources claim that Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) and petroleum dealers are going to create a fuel crisis across Pakistan. Some petrol pumps have been closed since Monday evening. However, Miftah Ismail said on August 05 that there are enough petrol reserves for 20 to 25 days.
