Google has announced to donate $500,000 towards the cause of flood relief activities in Pakistan, announced the company’s Vice-President, Google Southeast Asia Stephanie Davis.
According to a statement released by the popular search engine, Google would donate the said amount through its philanthropic arm to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. It was also revealed that its employees had already contributed more than Rs72 million in personal donations and company matches.
Google is the latest tech giant to have made an announcement of donations for flood relief in Pakistan, with Apple’s CEO Tim Cook announcing donations of an undisclosed amount earlier.
