Former United States president George W. Bush, in a slip of tongue, has finally admitted that the Iraq invasion was ‘unjustified and brutal’. He was speaking at an event in Dallas.
Shortly after he mistakenly took the name ‘Iraq’, he corrected himself and said that he meant to say ‘Ukraine’. He was criticising the Russian invasion of its neighbouring country.
“The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia, and the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq,” said Bush before he shook his head with a wry smile.
Bush was the man at the helm of the affairs when the US waged a war against Iraq on the pretext of eliminating the Weapons of Mass Destruction. However, the war that saw hundreds and thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens killed at the hands of the US Army could never find the WMD.
