Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives receives approval for projects from CDWP

The Federal Ministry for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, has announced that Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given a nod to 10 projects proposed under the leadership of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

According to details unveiled by the Ministry, three projects that got approval from CDWP are worth Rs 9.41 billion. Among these projects is the Establishment of the Federal Government College of Home Economics Management Sciences & Specialized Discipline in F-11/1 Islamabad. Valued at Rs 2,637.769 million, the project received approval from the CDWP. The post shared by Ministry stated that the initiative will provide quality home economics and management sciences education.

Similarly, CDWP approved the Establishment of a Women’s Sub-Campus at the University of Swat, which is worth Rs 1,360.266 million. The project will promote higher education and empower women in the region.

In addition to approving these projects, the CDWP has recommended 7 additional projects worth Rs 1,064 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further consideration.

The recommended projects include the Prime Minister’s National Programme for Solarization of Agriculture Tube wells which is worth Rs 377,236.275 million. Several projects for the Transport & Communications sector also got approval, including Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop, Punjab Arterial Roads Improvement Program, Construction of Yariq-Tank Road, Construction of Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, Construction of KhawazaKhel-Besham Expressway.
