ISLAMABAD: According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the internet speed in Pakistan has been affected by one terabyte after a fault in the submarine cable. The internet traffic is now being shifted to other cables by the PTA.

The SEA-ME-WE 4 optical fibre submarine cable, which carries telecommunications between Pakistan, France, Algeria, Tunisia, Italy, Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Srilanka, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, has developed a fault.

The fault would affect the internet speed rate during peak hours. As per industry sources, the submarine cable will be repaired by next month.
