After the easy loan applications scandal, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority got into action and blocked 43 loan applications.
According to the details, PTA blocked 43 applications under immediate action following the instructions of the Information & Technology Ministry. Federal Minister for IT Syed Amin UI Haque said that strict action has been initiated against illegal loan applications.
Syed Amin UI Haque briefed that Chairman PTA was directed to take immediate action against such applications after which the platforms were blocked. PTA initiatives also include consultation and support of SECP.
FIA Accelerates Efforts Against Fraud Easy Loan Applications
On the other hand, after the death of a citizen in Rawalpindi due to Easy Loan apps financial scheme, FIA has included the records of four cell offices held by apps as part of the investigation.
FIA has approached the concerned companies to block the accounts of loan apps. The FIA also received the records of all the employees of the loan apps companies, after which its cybercrime team launched an investigation against 19 people.
FIA has decided to investigate the data hacking process and has sent letters to PTA to obtain records of SIMs used in financial fraud.
