Medical board places Dua’s age between 15-16 years

KARACHI: The Dua Zehra case has taken a new turn after the medical board issued a new medical report. The medical board has confirmed Dua to be a minor, aged somewhere between 15 and 16 years. Hence the claim of her parents proved to be valid.

Mehdi Kazmi, father of Dua, has repeatedly emphasised that his daughter is 14 years old.

According to a detailed report, Dua’s teeth age between 13 and 15 years. It further said that her bones age around 16 to 17 years. Therefore, her average age is between 15 to 16 years.

The new decision by the medical board means that Dua’s claim of being an 18-year old is wrong. The report also raises questions about her Nikah as per Sindh & Punjab law: a person cannot get married at the age of 15.

The lawyer of Mehdi Kazmi said that the report had been submitted to the court. He added that they would receive the verified copy from the court by today.
