Dollar swells to all-time high of Rs179 in interbank

KARACHI: On Monday, the Pakistani rupee dropped to its lowest value as the dollar touched the all-time high value at Rs179 in the interbank after gaining Rs0.49 in its previous value of Rs178.51.

Earlier, the US dollar had swelled to close at Rs178.63 in the interbank market after gaining 0.2 paisa on March 9. The dollar is trading at Rs180 in the open market.

The State Bank of Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have also dropped to $16.212 billion after dropping by $250 million on March 4.
