KARACHI: Troubles are compounding on the economic front of the flood-hit Pakistan. Dollar has soared to Rs225.20 in the interbank market after gaining Rs1.78 earlier today.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, dollar is currently trading at Rs225.20, compared to yesterday when it closed at Rs223.42. The dollar’s gain is attributed to its strong performance in the international market, with it having registered gains against 40 currencies so far.
There are speculations that loans of $4 billion from the friendly countries could mitigate the rising cost of dollar in the interbank market.
