Dollar reaches Rs187.22 in interbank market

KARACHI: On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee continued to shed value as the US dollar gained more strength during the start of the trade in the interbank market.

The rupee lost Rs1.30 in value against the greenback and reached Rs187.22 in the interbank market, while in the open market the dollar stood at Rs187.5. According to currency dealers and Chairman of forex association Malik Bostan, the rise in demand for the dollar in the international market has affected the value of the rupee.

Earlier on Wednesday, the dollar closed at Rs185.92 in the interbank market on a day-on-day basis after a gain of Rs1.48.
