Disgruntled MNAs leave PTI before no-confidence voting

ISLAMABAD: Before the no-confidence motion voting could start, dozens of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNAs have openly shown their disapproval of the incumbent government by seeking refuge here in Sindh House.

A seasoned politician and senior member of PTI, Raja Riaz, in a private channel interview, claimed that 24 MNAs had disconnected from the ruling party. He added that all members were staying at Sindh House out of fear of action against them by the government.

According to sources, disgruntled members include Wajeeh Qamar, Nuzhat Pathan, Khawaja Sheraz, Ahmad Hasan Dehar, Riaz Mazari, Basit Bukhari, Rana Qasim Noon, and Ghaffar Wattoo. Another MNA from PTI revealed that 33 MNAs had left the federal government, including three federal ministers.

Earlier in an interview, Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had said that around 12 lawmakers were staying with the opposition at a safe place.
