ISLAMABAD: After a surge in the Covid-19 positivity rate, Pakistan has started to report a decline in the number of positive cases. According to the data, from the National Institute of Health (NIH), 17,397 people were tested across Pakistan in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate stood at 2.24 per cent as 390 people tested positive. Currently, 175 patients are in critical condition, while two patients lost their lives.
The Health Services Academy said that they had anticipated that the infection rate would increase as a large number of people would visit animal markets. However, there were fewer people in the markets, which kept the Covid-19 in control.
The Academy further added that the present situation could be termed under control, but the humid environment in Karachi might result in more positive cases.
