Cyclone Biparjoy will hit Kati Bandar on June 15

Cyclone Biparjoy continues to advance towards the coasts of Sindh as it’s at a distance of 300 km southwest of Katy Bandar, 350 km south of Karachi and 360 km south of Thatta. The cyclone will move north-eastwards on June 15 afternoon and pass over Katy Bandar and Indian Gujarat. Heavy rains are expected from today till Friday in different cities of Sindh, including Karachi.

The fishermen told they witnessed a severe upheaval in the sea on their return. The Met Office has said there is a possibility of heavy rain and strong winds across the province as a result of the storm, 

Vulnerable Areas & Evacuation Process

Around 13,000 population of Katy Bandar is in danger, and so far 3,000 people were transferred to a safe place last night. Similarly, 5,000 residents of Ghorbadari, 2,500 of Badin, 5,000 of Shah Bandar, 1,300 of Kharo Chan and 10,000 of Jati are under threat of cyclone Biparjoy.

The evacuation process has been in progress and thousands of people were moved to safe places. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had ordered the Deputy Commissioners of respected areas to carry out the moving process.

The Sindh government and Defence Housing Authority have released the safety measures that should be taken to stay safe from the cyclone.
