Covid situation improving in Pakistan

Pakistan reports less than 300 cases for fifth consecutive day

KARACHI: Covid cases in Pakistan witnessed a downward trend as no deaths have been reported from Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir for the last six days. Twenty-eight new cases were reported from Islamabad and seven from AJ&K.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 93 new cases and five casualties. Seven new cases were reported from Balochistan, taking the tally to 33,211. In the last 24 hours, Punjab reported 143 new infection cases with the total number of cases amounting to 439,450. Meanwhile, the tally of total reported cases in Sindh stands at 468,401, of which 447,981 have recovered successfully and 7,555 have lost their lives.

A total of 717 people are said to have recovered from the virus countrywide in last 24 hours. However, 1,487 patients are still in critical condition.
