ISLAMABAD: The Covid situation is said to be stabilising in Pakistan as less than 10 casualties were reported today. The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said that they had conducted 42,096 new tests in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate is recorded to be at 1.35 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Covid cases are rising in Belgium as the authorities are considering to reimpose the Covid-mandated measures. The situation is said to be worsening as 5,299 cases are reported daily.

In Russia, the death toll has reached 1,106 in 24 hours. There is a possibility that the authorities might impose the lockdown again. The task force has reported 36,446 new cases.

According to the Russian authorities, the rise in cases is due to low vaccination rates.

China is also experiencing a surge in the Covid cases as it has locked down the northwestern city, Lanzhou, after 29 new cases. The city is home to four million people.
