Covid cases fall below 1,000 for first time since Jan 4

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported less than 1,000 Covid cases for the first time since January 4 earlier this year. According to the National Command and Operation Centre, of the 38,139 people sampled, 961 tested positive for the virus.

The Covid positivity rate has also dropped to 2.51 per cent from 3.26pc a day earlier. As a result of the fifth wave subsiding, the number of deaths has also dropped significantly. Total 13 Covid related deaths were reported in the country during the past 24 hours.

It is pertinent to mention here that the country has crossed the grim benchmark of 30,000 Covid related deaths with the total number now standing at 30,040. The NCOC also shared that nearly 2,400 people recovered from the coronavirus during the past 24 hours.
