Sudden mood swings, coalition government shows no faith in judicial system of Pakistan

On Monday, the coalition government took out their wrath on the judicial system of Pakistan. Bilawal Bhutto, Maryam Nawaz, Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman and other members of the Pakistan Democratic Movement arranged a press conference before the Supreme Court could resume the hearing of the petition by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi against Dost Mazari’s ruling.

The coalition government kept on emphasising on a full-bench hearing. Maryam continued the trend of accusing the Supreme Court to favour Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. She said that in past the decision of the court tilted toward the PTI despite it mocking the court and judicial process.

She called out the supreme court for favouring groups that abuse institutions. Maryam further questioned the apex court’s decision to demote Hamza to trustee chief minister.

She lashed out at institutions for not letting ‘the elected chief minister’ use authority as chief minister. Maryam also alleged that there had been ‘bench-fixing’ against the PML-N as one or two judges who were against them got included on the bench. The Vice-President of PML-N demanded a suo-moto action on the issue.

Similarly, Bilawal said that three people could not be allowed to decide if the country would be administrated by a selected system, an elected system or a democratic system. Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman endorsed the point of view of PPP and PML-N.

He said that government had no faith in the current bench and they demanded a full bench. Maulana continued to threaten the institutions by stating not to push the nation towards rebelling against the system.
