Chinese FM Wang Yi urges urgent end of disaster in Gaza

Delegation of Arab and Muslim ministers, including foreign ministers of the Palestinian Authority, Indonesia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia & Jordan, visited Beijing to push for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to allow humanitarian aid into the devastated Palestine. Chinese Foreign Minister (FM) Wang Yi also urged the international community to take urgent action for stopping the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

In his opening remarks in Beijing, the Chinese FM said that all entities must restore peace in the Middle East as soon as possible and control the situation. He added that the situation has questioned humanity’s bottom line and basic sense of right & wrong.

Israeli forces took a vow to continue attacks on Gaza until the end of Hamas. Israel stated that on October 7 Hamas killed 1,200 people and took 240 hostages. Meanwhile, Hamas said that the relentless aerial bombardment and ground operations by Israel have killed around 13,000 people.

On Sunday, China announced the visit of a delegation (comprising Islamic state ministers and the secretary-general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation). The agenda of the meeting was to ask for a de-escalation of the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict and assurment of civilians’ protection.

Wang Yi said that China is a brother and a good friend of the Muslim nation and has firmly defended the legitimate rights of Arab & Muslim countries. He added that China has always efforts for Palestine to restore their legitimate national rights.

He asked the international community to act urgently and take effective measures to prevent the spread of tragedy.
