Karachi: According to the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI), the business confidence score (BCS) of Pakistan has dropped drastically in the last eight months. Against a score of 17 per cent during the survey of March-April 2022, the score dropped to negative 4 per cent during the survey held between September-October. 2022. The sample of the survey comprised 25 per cent of respondents from the retail/wholesale sector, 33 per cent from the services sector, and 42 per cent from the manufacturing area.
The survey unveiled that a 22 per cent drop occurred in the retail/wholesale sector, 24 per cent in the retail/wholesale sector and 20 per cent in manufacturing. President of OICCI, Ghisan Khan, said that the decline in BCS is regrettable and the result was evident because of the current political & economical situation. Only 2 per cent of respondents were optimistic about the business situation for the next six months. Around 56 per cent of respondents have no confidence for the next six months.
