The United States’ spokesperson Ned Price has categorically condemned the disrespectful comments against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) made by the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP is the ruling party of India.
Following the backlash on social media and protestors taking to streets, the two members were subjected to disciplinary actions by the BJP. Meanwhile, the ruling party had distanced itself from the said two members, stating that it respected all religions.
The law enforcement agencies have been persecuting the Indian Muslims under the government’s watch. Many of the Muslim protestors have had their homes razed to the ground with some having died at the hands of the police officials.
