Bilawal Bhutto lashes out at PTI on mini-budget

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticised the government for proposing the mini-budget during the national assembly session here on Wednesday. He said that the financial amendment bill would bring a ‘tsunami of taxes’.

The PPP chairman said that the common man would have to bear the brunt of the agreement between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the government. He warned that the agreement would cause the economic death of the country.

Bilawal also came out all guns blazing against the State Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill 2021, saying that the IMF had demanded SBP autonomy in PPP and PML-N regime as well which was rejected each time. He added that Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif had proposed a national dialogue to discuss the economy but was turned down by the incumbent government because of its stubbornness.

Bilawal has termed the current economic conditions as the worst, stating that such bad indicators were never seen in past. He said that the government did not care about people’s conditions.
