Star English all-rounder Ben Stokes has decided to part ways from One-Day International cricket. In an official statement, Stokes said that the ODI against South Africa on Tuesday would be his last match. He added that he would continue playing T20 internationals.
The backbone of England’s batting lineup and a reliable bowler, Stokes said that it was tough to make such a decision, but it was necessary as he’s unable to give 100 per cent performance. Stokes continued that he would give more time to the Test and T20 format.
The all-rounder scored 2,919 runs at an average of 39.44 and took 74 wickets. He was the key player who led the side to the famous 2019 World Cup victory.
