Attempt to smuggle heroin through footballs failed at Islamabad Airport

Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle worth millions of rupees of heroin, packed in footballs. According to Customs officials, the luggage was cleared by ANF at Islamabad International Airport, but when customs officials searched the luggage they found that the footballs it carried were overweight.

Officials briefed that they recovered 7.7 kilograms of high-quality heroin from footballs, equivalent to Rs11 crore in the global market.

The customs added that the cargo was being shipped from Sialkot to Manchester. The authorities have registered the case of smuggling, and a team has been formed to arrest the culprits.
