On Sunday, popular singer Asim Azhar announced his engagement with actress Merub Ali. But with wishes and blessings, the singer had to face allegations of calling Merub his sister in the past. Asim had to tweet about the matter to make things clear and denied ever calling Meerub his sister.

Meerub and Asim have faced comments regarding the nature of their relationship. Many said that both are step-siblings, and some referred to them as cousins. Asim clarified in an interview and explained that Meerub was a family friend, and their mothers were also good friends. Asim shared pictures of the engagement ceremony.
