DUBAI: Pakistan’s blazing middle-order batsman Asif Ali has been named the ‘Player of the Month’ by the International Cricket Council (ICC) here on Tuesday.
Ali was competing with Bangladesh’s star allrounder Shakib al Hasan and Namibia’s David Wiese. He played an integral role in Pakistan’s group stage wins over New Zealand and Afghanistan.
He has smashed six 6s in the tournament so far and is yet to be dismissed. Ali had been under severe criticism by the pundits who had questioned his selection in the squad.
