ANF seizes 5kgs of Heroin hidden in potatoes at Karachi Port

In a major anti-smuggling operation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in Karachi has seized a significant quantity of heroin concealed in a shipment of potatoes bound for Sri Lanka. Acting on intelligence, the ANF intercepted the container at the Karachi International Container Terminal, uncovering nearly 5 kilogrammes of heroin hidden in 122 potatoes across 80 sacks.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the heroin was expertly hidden within one to two potatoes in each sack out of a total of 1,198 sacks of potatoes. The ANF team meticulously searched and identified the heroin-filled potatoes, preventing the drugs from being smuggled out of the country.

One suspect has been arrested in connection with the smuggling operation. The container had been booked by a private company, and authorities are continuing their investigation to trace additional suspects. Further raids are expected as the investigation progresses, with the arrested individual now in ANF custody for questioning.
